Siemens - a reliable partner to the refining and petrochemical industry

 - At the Refining and Petrochemicals Southeast Asia 2014 (RPSEA2014) takes place in Ho Chi Minh City from 7 – 9 May attracting more than 200 leading refining and petrochemical players in Southeast Asia. Being one of the major players at this year’ event, Siemens’ main focus is on issues revolving around plant life cycle management, as well as on how the refining and petrochemical industry can benefit from the company's products, systems, solutions and services.

At the Refining and Petrochemicals Southeast Asia 2014, Siemens shows the latest technological innovation oriented toward the individual phases in the product and plant life cycle in the refining and petrochemical industry - from research and development through process analysis and design, plant engineering and production, to maintenance, optimization and modernization. The company is also presenting its extensive range of services for the petrochemical industries – from technical support and maintenance through life cycle service agreements.

Technological Highlights

The new Comos 10 software release has a significantly expanded range of functions, which can manage the largest volumes of data for plant management, from engineering through to production. The integration of process engineering and automation has also been developed further. A new interface ensures a consistent, bidirectional exchange of information between Comos and the Simatic PCS 7 process control system.

Siemens version 8 of the Simatic PCS 7 process control system, which has a multitude of new functions. Innovations range from an improved data exchange and a simplified engineering workflow through more powerful communication, redundancy and high-availability functions to new controllers and expanded functionalities in the software tools. The company’s technological portfolio for the refining and petrochemical industry is distinguished by high performance, plant availability and process stability, which are achieved by redundancy, secure fieldbus communication, and control and maintenance concepts.
