The exploiting rig of the Su Tu Nau Nam Mine
The Su Tu Nau mine is situated offshore in about 180km from Vung Tau city to the southeast, under 15-1 Lot operated by Cuu Long Joint Operation Company (JOC). The exploiting object is basement layer with separate structures, large cracking systems on the southwest of the mine, developed at the center of the large anticlines under influence of the internal tectonic movement.
Cuu Long JOC is a joint venture unit between PVEP with foreign partners such as SK, KNOC (Korea) and Perenco (France).
The Location of the Su Tu Nau Nam Mine
Su Tu Nau project is the sixth one of Cuu Long JOC after Su Tu Den Tay Nam (Southwestern Black Lion), Su Tu Vang (Golden Lion), Su Tu Den Dong Bac (Northeast Black Lion), Su Tu Trang (White Lion), Su Tu Vang Dong Bac (Northeast Golden Lion) projects. The EPCI contract with PTSC M & C General Contractor has been carried out since January of 2013 for the construction of two well heading rigs, pipelines with a length of more than 60 km and turnover part on the central technological rig of Su Tu Vang mine (Golden Lion) and the well heading rigs of Su Tu Den Tay Nam (Southwestern Black Lion), Su Tu Den Dong Bac (Northeast Black Lion) for receiving, transporting and treating products of Su Tu Nau (Brown Lion) project.
Su Tu Nau Nam mine has given the first oil flow after 19 months of tense development with ensuring quality and closely controlling costs. Besides, Su Tu Nau Bac (North Brown Lion) mine ( also under Su Tu Nau Project) is being hurried to complete the remaining works for giving the first oil flow in next some days, promising to increase the total oil flow of the whole Su Tu Nau Project up to about 34,000 barrels per day.

The success of the Su Tu Nau project marks to put into operation six among 9 mines which have the plan to be exploited in 2014, contributes an important part to the fulfillment of petroleum production target of PVEP as well as of the entire petroleum sector and continues to contribute to increasing supply, ensuring national energy security and promoting economic development of the country.
