Starting up the wind power project of 12 trilion VND in Quang Binh province

UPC expects to develop UPC – Le Thuy and UPC – Quang Binh wind power projects within 13 months and to be in operation before December of 2020. The UPC – Le Thuy project has a total investment of 2,000 billion VND, a total capacity of 50MW and an average generation of 158 million kWh per year. This project occupies an area of 16ha and  connected with national power system by 110 kV grid. The UPC - Quang Binh project has a total investment of 10,000 billion VND, a total capacity of 250MW and an average generation of 760 million kWh per year. This project occupies an area of 130ha and connected with national power system by 220kV grid.

At the meeting, the UPC representative informed, that at present, UPC corporation has deployed several preparating works as perfecting project scheme, initially researching wind, defining height of wind gauge, analysing location, establishing parterships with wind turbine manufacturers, surveying site and assessing environmental impact and grid connection…

Regarding Quang Binh province, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai considers these projects have very important significance for Quang Binh economic development. Therefore he assigns Quang Binh provincial Department of Industry and Trade to supplement wind and solar power planning in the province and submit it to Ministry of Industry and Trade for approval. Quang Binh PPC also agrees with UPC to select height of wind tower for the projects as 120 meters.
