PVN signs a coal import contract for the power thermal plants

According to the signing contract, PV Power Coal will import about 2 million tons per year from Bukit Asam and 1 million tons per year from Prima Multi Minerals.

PV Power Coal is a member unit of PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power). Currently, PV Power is managing 5 thermal power plant (TPP) projects, with a total capacity of 6.000MW, among which 3 projects as Long Phu 1, Quang Trach 1 and Song Hau will use the import coal.

PV Power Coal was established according to the Decision No. 86/QD/HĐQT-ĐLDK of PV Power Member Council, dated on March 19th, 2014, on the basis of status quo receiving capital, property, and personnel, converting subject of contracts and inheriting all rights and obligations from PV Coal.

PV Power Coal has the duties to ensure full sources (domestic and imported) and high effective service facilities of coal supply for PV Power TPPs; consult with the internal and external companies about investment cooperation with Vinacomin’s partners, in order to guarantee mostly comfortable and effective implementation of the coal purchase contracts; carry out the investment steps/participation with foreign partners in order to ensure the imported coal for PVN/PV Power TPPs.
