Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has approved two SPPs

 - Ba Ria-Vung Tau Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) has just issued two decisions on approving policy for the companies from Ho Chi Minh city to develop solar power projects (SPPs) on Gia Hoet 1 and Tam Bo irrigation lakes (in Quang Thanh commune, Chau Duc district) with a total capacity of 70 MW and a total investment level of more than 1,500 billion VND.

 

The Gia Hoet 1 SPP includes the solar power set with a capacity of 35 MWp, 22/110 kV step-up transformer substation with a capacity of 50 MVA and 110 kV transmission line with a cross section of 185 mm2 and a length of 2 km and  from Gia Hoet 1 to Tam Bo 22/110 kV step-up transformer substation. The Gia Hoet 1 solar set occupies an area of 40 ha on Gia Hoet 1 lake surface, invested by the Natural Energy Investment DTD Company Ltd with 766 billion VND. The operation life of the project is estimated 49 years  

The Tam Bo SPP invested by Energy Development Company Ltd with 796 billion VND. The project has a capacity of 35 MWp, an output of 52,123 MWh per year and an operation life of 49 year. The area of Tam Bo lake surface that project occupies is around 41.38 ha.

The Ba Ria – Vung Tau PPC asks investors to contact the authorities to be instructed to complete the prescribed procedures; to fully implement and ensure the contents of the environmental impact assessment reports approved under regulations and to have the plans to overcome the environment incidents.

Especially, the project design and construction must ensure the quality of water sources and structure of the reservoir foundation.

In the operation process of the project, if happens pollution of the water quality in the lake and the landscape environment of the area, the investors must stop operating the projects and be representative to ensure the safety of the lakes and dams.
