Inaugurating the Laboratory for researching self-combustible ability of coal

The laboratory as a project of cooperation between Vinacomin Institute of Mining Science and Technology and Polish Mining Research Institute has established for researching self-combustible ability of coal to prevent coal self burning in the pit mines and raise safety in coal production.

The total investment of the project is more than VND28 billion including equipment for defining coal oxidizing temperature; gas chromatography; training staffs and transferring technology for researching self-combustible ability of coal, classifying self-combustible level of coal seams, forecasting, early discovering and preventing self-combustible phenomenon of coal.

The putting into operation the Laboratory for researching self-combustible ability of coal has an important meaning in effort of implementing solutions to ensure safety for coal production of Vinacomin in the conditions of increasingly deeper exploitation, with  a high implicit endogenous fired risk.

This is a first and unique laboratory currently with the modern and advanced equipment which meets researching, determining the self- combustible property of coal in order to take measures for preventing  endogenous fire in the process from opening seams to exploiting.
