Loan agreement on project on reducing emission intensity in electricity supply

- On October 31, 2013 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Finance held a formal signing ceremony of a loan agreement with the German state-owned development bank (KfW) on the project on reducing emission intensity in power supply.

Accordingly, The German Government confirms to finance for Vietnam 80 million EUR of developing loan and 40 million EUR of promotion loan through KfW bank. The loan aims to construct and reinforce 110 kV grid; improve, upgrade and expand medium and low voltage networks in rural areas; reduce energy losses on power grid; enhance quality and safety of electricity supply, create fairness for rural and urban customers in price and quality of service.
With the loan agreement through KfW bank, Germany is the third biggest bilateral sponsor (after Japan and France).of Vietnam.
