Sembcorp studies to invest Dung Quat gas fired Power Project - 

Mr. Tran Ngoc Cang, the Chairman of Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) and Ms. Atul Nargund, Vice Chairman of Sembcorp (Singapore) have signed the MOU on cooperation in developing Dung Quat gas fired Power Project.

According to the MOU, Sembcorp will carry out the feasibility study report on Dung Quat II CCGT power plant with a capacity of 750 MW on an area of 6.15ha in Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Quang Ngai PPC will have to assist investor by supplying information during the studying process. This project that has been previously allowed the Government of Vietnam for development by CCGT scheme with a capacity of 750MW in Dung Quat Economic Zone, expects to be in commercial operation by 2024.

Sembcorp is an investor in Phu My 3 CCGT with a capacity of 746 MW that has been in commercial operation since 2004.

Besides, this corporation also took part in a number of the projects in other sectors, typically as a VSIP chain of industrial zones. And recently Sembcorp has signed a MOU with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on developing a thermal power plant (1200 MW) in Dung Quat, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province.
