The unit #1 of Mong Duong TPP No1 (540MW) has successfully synchronized to the National Power System with a 80MW highest available capacity for the first testing generation.
Currently, the contractor is continuing to carry out the necessary tests with expectation to put the unit into the official operation in early Quarter II, 2015.
Mong Duong No1 TPP invested by EVN with a VND 33,614 billion capital, is a 1040 MW (2x540MW) Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler (CFB) project using Hon Gai – Cam Pha 6A bran coal.
EVN assigned The Power Generation Corporation (GENCO 3) as the Investor of the project and Genco 3 assigned the Thermal Power Project Management Board No1 as the Manager of the Mong Duong No1 TPP Project.
Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co. Ltd (Korea) contractor assumed providing and installing equipment of TPP two units.
Participants in this project are: The Power Engineering Consulting JSC No1 (Vietnam) as a consultant responsible for making the Investment Project and Technical Design, Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd (HDEC) as an EPC General Contractor, and Poyry Company (Switzerland) as a consultant for construction supervising (include supporting the investor during process of approving detail design and drawings).
The unit #2 of the project is expected to synchronize to National Power System in June, 2015 and be completed in October, 2015.
Mong Duong TPP No1 is very important project in promoting socio-economic development of the Northeast focusing economic zone, it will take a considerable part in increasing stability, reliability and effective operation of power system in the northern region, particularly in the country generally.
