Inaugurating Coc San hydropower project in Lao Cai province

- The Coc Sau Hydropower Project (HPP) developed by Lao Cai Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company (LCRE) has been just inaugurated.

The construction of the Coc San project was started on Sept. 30, 2010 and all its three units were synchronized with national power system on April 29, 2016.
With an over 120 GWh generation per year, Coc San HPP will generate a significant revenue for Lao Cai provincial budget, contribute to reducing CO2 emission, electricity import from China, creating more jobs for the local people and promoting economic development in area. Besides, thanks to the project, about 130,000 households could assess clean, reliable electricity with a reasonable price.
