Vinacomin has received the Third Class Independence Medal

Mr. Nguyen Sinh Hung, Chairman of the National Assembly awards Vinacomin the Third Class Independence Medal.

According to Mr. Le Minh Chuan, Chairman of Vinacomin Member Council, for 20 years since establishment date, the total commercial coal production has reached up to 525 million tons, of which the highest production was 44.7 million tons in 2011.

Vinacomin has formed and developed the major industries relating to coal, minerals, electricity, chemicals, industrial explosive materials and suitable auxiliary industries and services, contributed to ensuring energy security of the country.

The total value of Vinacomin property on December 31, 2013 was VND 133,965 billion as 6.5 times in comparison with 2005. 

The capital of the owner increased from VND 900 billion in 1995 to VND 33 trillion in 2013.

Vinacomin is the first State-owned enterprise of the country to set up an Environmental Fund and actively participated in environmental protection, raising effect of labor safety works and health care for workers.

Revenue of the Group in 2014 is expected to reach VND106 trillion as 50 times in comparison with the establishment date. Regarding the new product as aluminum, it is expected to reach a 470-500 thousand tons production this year.

Contribution to the State budget in 2014 is expected as VND13 trillion, increasing 11% in comparison with 2013. The Group creates jobs and incomes for 123 thousand people, participates in ensuring the social living safety   and actively contributes to social activities in the region.

Vinacomin’s target in coming time is to become a strong economic Group, with a reasonable production and business structure, focusing on major production fields as coal, minerals, electricity, explosive industrial materials and mechanical.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai recognized and highly appreciated the tremendous contributions of collectives of cadres and workers of Vinacomin in the past 20 years, who are   worthy  to proceed the heroic tradition of Vietnamese miners, and emphasized the position and role of Vinacomin after 20 years of establishment and development.

Deputy Prime Minister drawn Vinacomin’s attention to the remaining shortcomings and  concentration on the main targets to restructure  enterprises, especially for major business fields,   attach special importance to administer resources, investment, promote quality of establishment and management of essential   projects relating the Group development strategy and mobilize all of the social resources for meeting the investment demand.

Vinacomin needs to focus it’s capital and resources to implement well the production to meet the highest demand for coal, minerals, electricity, coal gasification, and effective   alumina - aluminum production for the economic development.

Especially, the Group needs to carry out   strongly safety measures, strengthen disciplines, build industrial style of work, pay attention to development of human resources both in quantity and quality, have suitable mechanism and policy for training and giving the mind to improving living conditions of labors, highly bring into play the tradition “Discipline – Unanimity”, a factor with determining value in every victory of Vinacomin on last 20-year throughout itinerary.
