Vinacomin and Marubeni come to sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement

At the meeting, members of the delegation of Marubeni Corporation discussed with Vinacomin about concrete fields of bilateral co-operation such as natural resources and minerals, power, chemicals, mining construction machinery, aluminum project, aluminum electrolysis.

Specifically, for the field of natural resources and minerals, both parties discussed about the extension of the contract for supplying coal to the traditional Japanese customers, selection of new location for pilot project of Red River Delta coal project; for power sector, Marubeni Corporation wishes to continue to promote the cooperation with Vinacomin in two projects as Na Duong 2 and Quynh Lap 1 Thermal Power Plant; for chemical sector, Marubeni carried out the construction of warehouses and grounds in Vung Tau city in order to supply long term and stable sodium-hydroxide for Tan Rai Alumina Plant; for mining construction machinery sector, Marubeni has been upgrading workshops in Quang Ninh province in order to focus on after-sales services for equipment provided to Vinacomin during the past time.

Mr Le Minh Chuan, General Director of Vinacomin stressed that the contract for long-term coal supply to the Japanese customers may be considered by both sides to sign for the next period till 2018; for Red River Delta Coal project, the Group has reported to the Government and is waiting for feedback for implementation ; for Power projects Na Duong 2 and Quynh Lap 1, Vinacomin is waiting for Marubeni to complete necessary documents and procedures; for chemical sector, Vinacomin supports and shall continue to promote cooperation with Marubeni; regarding mining machinery and equipment, the cooperation with Marubeni on types of equipment, prices, after-sale service, etc shall be united in the whole Group.

In addition, the General Director of Vinacomin initiated that two parties shall continue to discuss more about necessary issues to early signing a comprehensive strategic co-operation agreement between Vinacomin and Marubeni in December.

Mr.Mamoru Sekiyama, Vice President of Marubeni confirmed that he would try to perfect procedures for signing the comprehensive strategiccooperation agreement with Vinacomin at the soonest time and expressed his wish that the signing ceremony should be held in Tokyo, Japan.
