Amending the Loan Agreement for Trung Son Hydropower Plant Project (HPP)

Accordingly, the DPM Hoang Trung Hai assigned the State Bank of Vietnam to carry out the procedures with WB for completing the amendment of the Loan Agreement for Trung Son HPP.
DPM assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to direct and supervise the Project implementation Units to ensure compliance with the domestic and WB current regulations on compensation, assistance, resettlement and recovery of the life for the people under the influence of the project.
At the same time, DPM also assigned MoIT to unify with Ministry of Finance on regulation of implementing monitoring and managing the payment for the people to build the resettlement houses within the project by themselves; take the measures to accelerate the progress of project, avoid further extending and amending the Loan Agreement.
Trung Son HPP has an installed capacity of 260 MW, with total investment of US $411.72 million; in which, WB loan is US $330 million and the Vietnam counterpart fund is US $81.72 million.
The project is built on the Ma river in Trung Son Commune, Quan Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province. Objective of the project is to supply the National Power System with and ensure the safety, sustainability on environment.
