A $109 million Wind Power Project in Binh Dinh province has been licensed for investment

According to the Management Board of Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, this is the first wind power project  by foreign investment licensed in Binh Dinh province.

The Nhon Hoi wind power project is invested by two foreign companies as The Viettracon Management and Investment Limited Company (German) and the Green Venture Invest AG Company (Switzerland), at the western side of the Phuong Mai mountain in the Nhon Hoi economic zone, with an area of about 600 hectares.

According to the design, the total capacity of the project is 61.1 MW with a 30.55MW in first phase development put into operation by 2016 and the same capacity in the second phase expected to be complete by 2020. The project will be connected to the 110kV power system by transition on 110kV Nhon Hoi – Phuoc Son line.

Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has decided to approve the adjustment for supplementing the Nhon Hoi wind power project into the Power development planning of Binh Dinh province in period of 2011 - 2015 with the outlook up to 2020.

So, at present in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone there are three wind power projects with a total capacity of over 111MW have been licensed for investment.

Previously, Binh Dinh Province has granted investment licenses to two wind power projects as Phuong Mai 1 of Phuong Mai Wind Power Company with an area of ​​143 hectares and Phuong Mai 3 of the Central Wind Power JSC, with an area of ​​140 hectares. The total capacity of the two projects is more than 50MW.
