The Danish Embassy has just had the 3rd meeting with Hai Phong City People’s Committee (CPC) on implementing an offshore wind power project with a total capacity of 3,900MW and a total investment of about 13.6 billion USD.

The Power Purchase Contract (PPC) for Huong Linh 2 Wind Power Project (WPP) has been signed between Tan Hoan Cau Stock Company and Electricity Power Trading Company (Electricity of Vietnam - EVN).

On the morning of April 24, 2022, Ca Mau Renewable Energy Investment Joint Stock Company (CMC) held the ceremony for inaugurating phases 1 and 2 of Tan Thuan Wind Power Project.

On December 29, 2019, In Tan Thuan commune, Dam Doi district, Ca Mau province, the ceremony for starting Tan Thuan Wind Power Project took place.

In Vung Tau city has been held the signing ceremony on comprehensive cooperation between the Singapore Enterprize Energy & RE Global Solution and the associate of PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC) and Vietsovpetro (VSP) to develop an offshore wind power project in Vietnam. The project is located in 30 km from Binh Thuan sea coast and has a capacity of 1200 MW, total investment level of US$ 3.5 billion. The investment of the project will be diverged in two phases as 600 MW in 2018 - 2021 and 600 MW in 2021 – 2023.

Phu Cuong Group, GE (US) and Mainstream Group (Ireland) have signed an investment cooperation agreement on wind power project in Soc Trang province with a capacity up to 800 MW and a total investment of about US$ 2 billion.

Construction commenced on a wind power plant in Dat Mui Commune of Ngoc Hien District in the far-southern province of Ca Mau on September 27.

The Prime Minister has approved the Project  “Wind Power Development in Vietnam” with  ODA fund of German Government.

On January 16, 2022, Trungnam Tra Vinh 1 Wind Power Joint Stock Company, a member of Trung Nam Group held a ceremony for inaugurating Dong Hai 1 Wind Power Project in Tra Vinh province. This project is the first step for the "sea voyage" demonstrating the construction capacity of Trungnam Group, in successful implementing the first offshore wind power project, overcoming the trial of the time and natural unfavorable factors in the Southwest region, opening the way for offshore wind power projects of Trung Nam Group in coming time.

At present, in Vietnam many wind power projects (WPPs) deployed, but there is no sample  contract pattern established for this type of projects, so WPP EPC contractors and turbine suppliers still have a lot of questions and it is necessary to study and complete.

On July 16, 2020, at Headquarter of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam - Hanoi Branch (BIDV Hanoi Branch), BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) and Ben Tre Renewable Energy Joint Stock company (BTRE) organized the ceremony on insuring for Ben Tre V1-3 Wind Power Project.

Explaining an information that, in recent years, many wind and solar projects were initially assigned to Vietnamese investors, but later transferred to Foreign investors to invest, own, manage and operate, Mr. Hoang Tien Dung - Director of Electricity and Renewable Energy Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) affirmed that transferring all or a part of the investment project is a normal transaction in the market mechanism and is regulated by the Investment Law.

In Duyen Hai town (Tra Vinh province), Tra Vinh Ecotech Renewable Energy Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for Hiep Thanh Wind Power Project.

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has signed the Document No. 311/TTg-CN on March 10, 2020 for agreeing to adjust the capacity of Trung Nam wind power project from 105.75 MW to 151.95 MW Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Document No.1237/BCT-DL, dated 25/22020, on adjusting capacity of Trung Nam wind power project (that has been supplemented to Power Development Planning VII adjusted by Prime Minister) from 105.75 MW to 151.95 MW.

On June 13, in Binh Thuan province, there took place a ceremony to announce the license for surveying ThangLong wind power project in offshore area of Ke Ga Cape and to introduce the official Website of the project.
