In the conclusion of a hand over to the next shift of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT), the Minister Vu Huy Hoang  said the electricity tariffs will be soon adjusted from 6 to 3 price steps and come to a single step in future.

In response to the 'double impact' caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and the sharp decline in oil prices, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) has proactively made the plans to adjust the Program of the action and budget of oil and gas  projects in 2020 corresponding with the oil price scenarios to timely cope with complicated market development.

Due to not much time for individual appraising wind power projects to submit the Power Development Planning VIII (PDP VIII), the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) has decided to stop appraising wind power projects for supplementation to PDP VII (adjusted).

The Government of Vietnam has just announced a specific list of wind power projects added to the Power Development Planning VII (adjusted project) as a basis for implementing management of construction investment in accordance with regulations.

Prime Minister has accepted the proposal of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) to correct the coal-fired thermal power projects in Adjusted Power Planning VII by adjusting the capacity of An Khanh project (in Bac Giang province with an old name as Luc Nam) from 100 MW to 650 MW and supplementing an independent project (IPP) of 100 MW (2x50 MW) for electricity supplying Duc Giang Chemical Joint-Stock Company (Lao Cai province) without connection with national power system.

At the afternoon of January 19, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Gas Corporation (PV GAS) and Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) held a ceremony for signing a credit contract of 1,500 billion VND to sponsor “Phase 2 of the Adjusted Nam Con Son gas pipeline project”, in which Ky Dong Branch of Vietcombank as the Vietcombank representative clue provides a credit of 1,000 billion VND.
