According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, American multinational oil and gas corporation (Exxon Mobil) and PetroVietnam (PVN) are seeking a location with area of about 200ha for developing a 4000-5000MW power plant and a gas processing plant, among that, for the first phase, an area of 100ha will be used for 1500 MW power plant. Total investment of this super project estimates up to USD 20 billion.

As the largest liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) warehouse in Vietnam, Vung Tau PV GAS Dock Warehouse (VTDW) is an important link in the Bach Ho and Nam Con Son gas chain, supplying 60% LPG output for Vietnam market per year, maintaining domestic LPG trading market share, playing an important role in production and business tasks, and ensuring national energy security of PV GAS. In August 2021, PV GAS will celebrate its 20th anniversary since putting VTDW into commercial operation.
