At the Refining and Petrochemicals Southeast Asia 2014 (RPSEA2014) takes place in Ho Chi Minh City from 7 – 9 May attracting more than 200  leading refining and petrochemical players in Southeast Asia. Being one of the major players at this year’ event, Siemens’ main focus is on issues revolving around plant life cycle management, as well as on how the refining and petrochemical industry can benefit from the company's products, systems, solutions and services. 

On 14th March 2014, in HCMC, Thailan Oil and Gas Corporation (PTT) reported to Binh Dinh Province People's Committee (PPC) and Ministry of Industry and Trade  on the deploying works of the Project of Nhon Hoi refinery and petrochemical complex.

Long Son Petrochemical Company Limited (LSP) has just made a proposal to the Prime Minister on increasing the total investment capital of the Southern Petrochemical Complex project to 5.15 billion USD, including an equity of nearly US$ 2.1 billion, accounting for 40 % total investment. 

The Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and the Siam Cement Group (SCG) of Thailand have just signed an agreement on accelerating the progress of a petrochemical project in southern Vietnam.

The working group of the Prime Minister headed by the Chairman of Government Office - Minister Mai Tien Dung has just concluded checking results of Petrovietnam. In the conclusion, Minister Dung asked Ministry of Finance to advise the government, Prime Minister to consider a special mechanism on providing guarantee of parent company to the subsidiaries for foreign loans in proportion to PVN capital contribution in Long Son Petrochemical Company Limited to invest  Petrochemical Complex in Southern Vietnam.

The JGCS general contractor (Affiliation of Contractors: JGC, GS, Chiyoda, SK E&C and Technip, leaded by JGC Japan) has handed CVL 6 (Civil 6) contract package (Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical Complex Project) to PetroVietnam Construction Joint-Stock Corporation (PVC). The total value of the package is around VND 500 billion.

Exchanging with Mr. Douglas Kelly - Chairman of USA Kellogg Brown & Root Technology Solutions Company (KBR) on June 6, in Hanoi, Mr. Hoang Quoc Vuong, Chairman of the Member Council Board of Vietnam Petroleum Group (PVN) proposed KBR apply a number of new technologies and technical solutions in the project of upgrading and expanding Dung Quat Oil Refinery plant, as well as participating in the investment to develop the Long Son Energy and Petrochemical Complex.

On the morning of January 11, 2021, at Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province, Doosan Vina opened the New Year 2021 with the shipment of 2,195 tons of raw fuel heating support equipment under the TOP Fired Heater project for South Korea JNK Heaters customer after more than a year of production.

On October 24, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung received Mr. Roongrote Rangsiyopash, Chairman and CEO of SCG Group (Thailand) – the Investor of Southern Petrochemical Complex Project.

At the Quang Ninh Provincial Investment Promotion Conference in 2022 "Converging and Spreading", the Representative of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee (PPC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on investment in Quang Yen Stavian Petrochemical Plant project (valued 1.5 billion USD) for Quang Yen Stavian Petrochemical Joint Stock Company and Bac Tien Phong Industrial Park Joint Stock Company.

According to the  Vietnam Erection Corporation (Lilama), on May 22, at the Nghi Son Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Project, Lilama Erection  Mechanical  JSC (Lilama EMC) in cooperation with Nippon Express Company (NEX, Japan) successfully installed two reactor towers - SPM4  bidding package (AE00), with a total weight of nearly 900 tons.

Vietnam Installation Corporation (Lilama) in collaboration with Japan NIPPONG EXPRESS (NEX) has successfully installed a 655 ton reactor in  Nghi Son ORPP.

The Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to supplement the Nhon Hoi Refining and Petrochemical Complex, Binh Dinh province (Victory project) to Oil and Gas industry Development Planning.

Information from Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee (PPC) said that the leaders of Sermsang Group, AGR Group and ETS Holding Co., Ltd (Thailand) had a meeting with Mr. Le Truong Luu, Secretary of Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee and other leaders with a proposal to invest in a petrochemical center in Thua Thien Hue province.
