On the afternoon of March 16, Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh chaired a working meeting with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) on the production and business situations of the group in 2021, the first two months of 2022 and in 2022.

At the morning of January 03, 2018, the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc handed the Decision to appoint the Chairman of the Member Council of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (PVN) for Mr. Tran Sy Thanh.

The Prime Minister (PM) has just approved the Development Strategy of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to 2030 with a vision up to 2045. According to this Development Strategy, EVN will become a strong economic group with sustainable, efficient business operated by the market mechanism, equally competed with the enterprises of other economic sectors in accordance with the legal regulations.

At the Mid-term Vietnam  Business Forum 2015 (VBF), with the theme "Improving the Competitive capacity of Enterprises for International Integration" was just held in Hanoi, regarding the worry before of foreign business community on the electricity shortage and supply reliability problems in Vietnam in future, Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung quieted the investors that the Roadmap of electricity prices will be evidently public in coming time. Besides, PM also confirmed, there will be no shortage of electricity and energy in Vietnam even up to 2020 or 2030.

On the afternoon of October 11, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Mr. Juan Ignacio Rubiolo - Permanent Vice Chairman of AES Energy Corporation (USA). On this occasion, AES proposed Vietnamese Government improve the investment and business environment, including the development of a pilot regulation on the Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA).

On the morning of December 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Government Mission carried out a survey of the coastal wind power projects in Hoa Binh district, Bac Lieu province, worked with Bac Lieu provincial leaders, investors on renewable energy development in Bac Lieu province and Vietnam.

The Prime Minister (PM) has just directed the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), local authorities and  Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) to review issues related to the solar power development in Vietnam (Official Document No. 185 / TTg-CN).

On November 13, 2019, at the Government Headquarter, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired the Meeting of the standing members of the government on the Draft of Solar Power Development Promotion Mechanism in Vietnam, applied from the 1/7/2019, following the Decision No. 11/2017 / QD-TTg dated 11/4/2017 of the Prime Minister (Decision 11). 

The Office of the Government has just issued Document No. 6888 / VPCP-CN dated July 20, 2018 signed by the Minister, Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung to convey the opinions of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc for thanking the scientists and Vietnam Energy Magazine for "scientific comments and solutions to improve the efficiency of Vietnam oil and gas industry in the coming period". 

On the evening of July 25, 2018 in the government office, Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc received the investors interesting in Bac Lieu LNG-fired thermal power project (TPP).  

On the afternoon of July 27, 2018, Mr. Bounthong Chitmany - Member of Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, General Inspector of Water Lao PDR leading a high level delegation of the Lao Government Inspectorate paid a working visit to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN).

The Prime Minister (PM) assigned Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) to review hydropower development planning in Highland in accordance with his requirements in the Message No 391/CĐ – TTg dated 16/3/2017 and in other localities in accordance with the requirements of the National Assembly (NA) in the Resolution No 62/2013/QH13 dated 16/3/2017 on strengthening the management of planning, construction investment, exploitation and operation of hydropower projects to report to PM for assessment and report to NA.
