On 23/12/2020, in Ho Chi Minh City, under the direction of the Office of the National Steering Committee for Electricity Development, the Science Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine organized the “First Vietnam Clean Energy Forum and Summurising the vote of the Leading clean energy enterprises in Vietnam 2020.

On July 29, 2015, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry (MoIT) and US Agency for International Development (USAID) signed an Intentional Letter on the clean energy development and energy efficiency to promote the sustainable law emission development in Vietnam.

Information from the Vietnam Coal - Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) showed that the Vinacomin delegation led by General Director Dang Thanh Hai has participated in the 2018 Clean Coal Conference in Tokyo. This is the annual international conference organized by the Japan Coal Energy Center (JCOAL).

Japan’s coal enterprises are ready to transfer clean coal technology to Vietnam’s firms to reduce emissions and enhance efficiency in the electricity sector, said Noboru Aoki, head of the environment division at New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation.

In order to recognize, encourage and promote investors and enterprises investing in developing typical clean power projects, providing high-tech equipment and services for clean energy projects in 2021. On April 7, 2022, in Hanoi, in the presence of central state management agencies, the Committee on Science, Technology, and Environment of the National Assembly, the State Bank of Vietnam, the Climate Change Department (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), Institute of Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnamese and International organizations and enterprises... the Scientific Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine held a meeting to summarize voting and awarding certificates of "TOP 10 prestigious clean energy IPP investors in Vietnam 2021" and "TOP 10 enterprises with the best technology, equipment, and services of wind and solar power in Vietnam 2021".

According to the plan, on May 7, 2021, in Ho Chi Minh City, the "International Forum on Finance and Technology for Clean Energy Projects in Vietnam (first time)" and Voting "The TOP prestigious electrical equipment brands in Vietnam in 2020". However, due to complying with the measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic of the Government and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Forum had to stop right before one day. Faced with the situation of "force majeure" due to the pandemic, the experts and managers discussed and contributed opinions, the Science Council of Vietnam Energy Magazine decided to make a report and recommendations on a number of mechanisms and policies for the sustainable development of clean energy in Vietnam to the Prime Minister, the Head of the Central Economic Commission, the Minister of Industry and Trade as well as related ministries and industries.

The Ministry of Construction (MOC) has just sent to Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) a paper of the consensus to add Hong Phong 1 Solar Power project and Hoa Thang 1.2 Wind power project in Binh Thuan province into National Power Development Planning.

The international seminar “ New technologies on electricity supplies and grids, renewable energy and energy storage system” held by Vietnam Energy Association (VEA) and Korea ESS Industries Development Association (KEIDA) in cooperation with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), PetroVietnam (PVN) and Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin) on 14/3/2017 in Hanoi and 16/3/2017 in Ho Chi Minh city.

Finalizing and analizing the results of "Scientific conference on application of energy storage systems and technologies to improve efficiency for renewable energy projects in Vietnam" held at the end of November 2021 in Hanoi, the Scientific Council of The Vietnam Energy Magazine has just published a report on a need and role of electricity storage systems in power system with a high renewable energy (RE) rate as Vietnamese power system (Today, RE capacity is 27.2 % of the national power system capacity and this figure should be 41.5 % in 2045 as by draft PDP VIII).
