On June 25, 2019 in Hoa Hoi commune, Phu Hoa district, Phu Yen province, Phu Yen TTP Joint Stock Company held ceremony for inaugurating and putting into operation Hoa Hoi solar power project (SPP), with a capacity of 214MW, equivalent to 256 MWp .

At the regular Press Conference of the Government on May 4, 2016, answering questions from journalists about the government’s viewpoint on planning and implementation plan of hydropower projects in Central Highlands region, Mr. Mai Tien Dung, Chairmen of Government Office affirmed: the Government has steered related ministries, sectors and localities to check, correct and supplement hydropower planning in Central Highlands region with a multipurpose target as power generation, flood control in rainy season and water supply for the lowland in dry season.

The information from the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) said: In the afternoon of April 16, 2019, in Da Nang city, The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) announced the Decision to appoint Chairman, General Director and Members of the Member Council of the EVNCPC and organized a ceremony for signing the authorized contract to manage the capital of EVN in EVNCPC.

On May 2 2014, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) towed its semi-submersible deep water rigs HD-981 and positioned it to a location at coordinates of 150 29' 58" N and 1110 12" 06" E. On May 4, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) sent a letter to CNOOC Chairman and CEO expressing their vehement protests and demanded CNOOC immediately stop their illegal acts and pull the drilling rig HD-981 out of Vietnam’s waters.

The Deputy Prime Minister lauded efforts of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) – the project’s investors - as well as the local authorities in the implementation of the project.  

The central coastal province of Khanh Hoa is striving to bring the solar power plants in its territory to operation in 2019, according to local authorities.

On December 28, GE Renewable Energy announced that it has secured a 27.2 MW contract to supply 8 units of GE’s 3MW-137 wind turbines to support construction of the Phuoc Minh Wind Farm, located in Ninh Thuan, in the South Central Region of Vietnam. A consortium of PowerChina Huadong Engineering Corporation, Henste Engineering and IPC Group will provide full Engineering, Procurement and Construction services for the project.

Vung Ro Petroleum Ltd. Co., a joint venture between the U.K.’s Technostar Management Limited and Russia’s Telloil Group, will start the construction of its $3.2-billion oil refinery project in Vietnam’s central coastal province of Phu Yen in mid-August.

In the morning of June 14, 2019, in Cam Lam district (Khanh Hoa province), the representative of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and the related units organized to synchronize the first phase (with design capacity of 10 MW) of the solar power project (SPP) of EVNCPC with the national power system.
