The Mechanisms for implementing Nam Dinh Thermal Power Plant Project

The capital arrangement for guaranteeing implementation of the initial project contract, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) to guide investors to carry out the project in accordance with current regulations.
The Prime Minister has agreed to hand the consortium of investors: Taekwang – Korea Power Co.,Ltd, International Company of Power and Water Projects - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia instead of the consortium of investors: Taekwang – Korea Power Co., Ltd and the Korea East West Co., Ltd to contribute capital investments for project development
The Prime Minister paid attention, all the conversion, transfer and capital contribution between the parties, including the cases with the profits arising must be carried out according to the regulations of Vietnamese laws.
MoIT to guide the consortium of the new investors to negotiate the contracts with Vietnamese partners and implement the next steps of the projects in accordance with the curent regulations.
The 2400MW (4x600MW) Nam Dinh thermal power plant is sited in Hai Chau and Hai Ninh communes (Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh province).
The project will be developed in two stages with 1200 MW in 2016 - 2017 and 1200 MW in 2020 -2021 and operated by BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) Mode within 25 years.
