Ministry of Industry and Trade to petition the government for allowing coal export

 - To resolve in stock coal of Vinacomin, after balancing the domestic coal demand, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) has petitioned the Government for allowance to export coal.

According to the MoIT, coal production has been grown in comparison with the same time of the previous year:   in May the clean coal production estimated nearly 3.7 million tons, increasing by 0.8% to the same time of the last year. And for the first five months of the year the clean coal production estimated averagely nearly 17.6 million tons, increasing by 4.5% in comparison with the same period of the last year.

Regarding coal consumption: in May was over  3 million tons decreasing by 3% and for the first five months was approximately 15 million tons, decreasing by 5.6% to the same period of the last year. The domestic coal consumption increased by 15% while coal export decreased and accounted by 17.54% to the same period of the last year.

Regarding the situation of coal consumption, Vinacomin has also directed the member units to rebalance their production – consumption plans in the last months of 2015.

Due to that the government does not permit to export coal dust, in 2015 Vinacomin estimates to export only about one million tons but three million (decreasing by two million tons) as expected, and as a result, the total coal amount Vinacomin can sell in 2015 would be not below 36 million tons instead of 38 million as planed in beginning of the year. Therefore, the MoIT has asked the Government to permit Vinacomin exporting coal dust as previous years for group to achieve the 2015 plan.

In case the petition will be not acceptable, Vinacomin requires the member units to rebalance implemented production to the year plan and execute reducing production of the remaining months on the basis of decreasing costs for financial balance and ensuring the jobs and stable income for employments.

It is estimated the total coal production of Vinacomin units will be decreased by 3 million tons.

The open mining units have to continue peeling ground for good preparing exploitation in following years. And the pit mining units have to strengthen digging the basic kilns for creating comfortable production conditions in following years.
