The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers take measures to remove difficulties for PVN - 

Understanding the Covid-19 pandemic and the sharp decline of oil prices greatly affected the production and business activities of Vietnam Oil and Gas industry, Prime Minister (PM) Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the ministries and agencies to consider these difficulties as ones of themselves in order to remove and find an appropriate exist.

On the afternoon of May 21, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired a meeting of the permanent staffs of the Government (including Deputy Prime Ministers (DPM)) on the measures to remove difficulties for Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Vietnam Airlines Corporation (Vietnam Airlines). It is the first meeting of the government staffs with the large enterprises to remove difficulties caused by Covid-19 pandemic.

In coming time government will continue to have the similar meetings on socio-economic development with the enterprises, localities and key economic areas.

After listening to the opinions of PVN and VNA, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc noted and high valued the spirit “overcome challenges, catch opportunity” of these groups.

PM was happy to find out that PVN and VNA also had the plans to overcome difficulties and sustain normal operation while many petroleum and airline corporations in the world have to close, go bankrupt.

PM asked PVN and VNA to continue maintaining this spirit in coming time for restructuring market, labors, maximum reducing costs and more enhancing operating efficiency.

For the government, PM confirmed “The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers are ready shoulder to shoulder to go with the enterprises”.

At the meeting, PM also gave PVN and VNA specific recommendations in spirit of removing obstacles and creating conditions for development.
