The first Oil flows from Thang Long – Dong Do Mines - 

On July 18, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Lam Son Joint Operating Co (Lam Son JOC) held a ceremony for receiving the first oil flows from Thang Long and Dong Do Mines and welcoming the Third Class Labor Medal.

Speaking at the ceremony, The Lam Son JOC General Director Phung Dac Hai said: After 3,830 working and waiting days since signing date (January 7th, 2003) of the petroleum contract on 01/97 and 02/97 lots exploitation, June 6, 2014, Lam Son JOC received the first oil flow from Thang Long Mine and a month after - the first oil flow from the Dong Do Mine. These were the most happy days for the people who were and are working in Lam Son JOC.

General Director Phung Dac Hai affirmed, the achievements of Lam Son JOC’ International Labor Collective could not be reached without the close guidance and the whole-hearted assistance of PVEP, PCVL, PetroVietnam leaders and experts. It is the same that all of Lam Son JOC sea projects were closely connected with always side by side together contractors as PTSC, PVD, VSP, DMC, POTS, PV Oil, PVE, PVI, VPI, PVD-Baker Huges, Halliburton, Schlumbeger and many other contractors...

With an expected mining output about 16,000 barrels per day, the Thang Long and Dong Do mines not only contribute an important part to ensuring the production plan of PVEP in particular and the entire oil and gas industry in general, but also affirm prospects for putting into practice the development of marginal, small mines of Vietnamese oil and gas industry in future.

On this occasion, the Vietnamese State has awarded the labor collective of Lam Son JOC a Labor Medal of the third class and some of it’s individuals the Friendship Medals. At the same time, many groups and individuals of Lam Son JOC were honored to receive the awards from the Vietnamese Government, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and PetroVietnam.
