Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue received Vice President of Exxon Mobil

 - On December 20, 2017, in the Government Office, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Vuong Dinh Hue received Vice President of Exxon Mobil, Mr. Paul Greemwood. At the meeting Mr. Paul Greemwood confirmed that Exxon Mobil will continue to take interest in cooperation and investment with the partners in Vietnam coming time. DPM Vuong Dinh Hue thanked and high appreciated the support and assistaince of Exxon Mobil for Vietnam to sucessfuly organize APEC 2017 Summit.

DPM informed, Vietnam is promoting business environment, rising the national competition ability and calling for the foreign enterprses with management capcity and financial potential to invest and take business in Vietnam.

Previously, on August 28, 2017, Prime Minister (PM) Nghuyen Xuan Phuc had a working meeting with Mr. John Gibbs, Vice President of Exxon Mobil for Asia Pacific and Middle East. At the meeting, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc confirmed: “Vietnamese government will create all the faverable conditions for Exxon Mobil to sucessfully implement the cooperation programs aprojects in Vietnam. The Exxon Mobil also mút need to closely cooperate with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), Petrvietnam (PVN) and Ministry of Industry and Trade to eensure development progress of Blue Whale gas field”

The Blue Whale gas field has a spot recovery reserve about 150 billion cubic meters and estimated exploitation volume of 9 – 10 billion cubic meters fer year, among that 1 billion cubic meters for deep processing in Dung Quat Refinery.   

As planned, Exxon Mobil will invest in a well-head rig for offshore water extracting, two underground exploiting groups with 4 wells each and a gas pipeline to Chu Lai seacoast with a length of 88 killometrs.

Onshore, PVN will develop a gas processing plant and a power plant with two units by 600 – 700 MW each. Both these plants will be located in Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province and  expected in operation in 2023.

Beside, another power plant with the same capacity will be developed in Quang Ngai province and expected in operation in 2023 as well.
