The largest 210 MW Solar Power Project in Vietnam - 

On October 13, 2017, the Sao Mai group and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have signed an agreement on cooperating investment in a largest in Vietnam Solar Power Project of 210 MW with a total value of US$ 193.35 million in Tinh Bien district, An Giang province. The project is financed by USAID through Low Emission Energy Program for Vietnam (V- LEEP).

This project will be implemented in four phases as: phase 1 – 46 MW, phase 2 – 58 MW, phase 3 – 44 MW and phase 4 – 62MW and completed in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 respectively.

The Thailand branch ILF Consulting Engineers Ltd. has been assigned to establish the Prefeasibility Study Report and obtain the Investment License for the project from provincial authority.

Previously, the project was supplemented in Power Development Planning VII with approval of Prime Minister in Decision No 869/TTg-CN at June 19, 2017.

This is also the first solar power project using polycrystalline modules implemented by the worldwide leading EPC.
