The Quang Tri 1 BOT TPP with a total capacity of 1320 MW, and a total investment level of 55,093 billion VND, is developed by Thailand International Power Company EGATi, in the Southeastern Economic Zone of Quang Tri province.
According to Feasibility Study Report, approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and agreed by the Prime Minister to assign EGATi as the BOT investor (in August of 2013) the project is coal fired TPP that has two units by 660 MW each with supercritical technology.
Quang Tri 1 TPP is the project with the largest total investment capital ever developed in Quang Tri province, when putting into commercial operation the project will generate more than 7 billion kWh per year for the national power system, contribute to ensuring energy security for the country, to promoting energy development in locality and to making Quang Tri to become an energy center of the Central region.
