Five “Made in Vietnam” by Doosan Vina Rubber Tired Gantry Cranes arrive at KPCL in India

These RTGC’s are the first products by Doosan Vina for KPCL.  The total weight of the five RTGC cranes is 800 tons.  Each crane weighs 160 tons, is 27 m high, 28 m long and 13 m wide.  They are designed to stack, load and unload the standard 41 ton cargo containers. And because their operating technology is cutting edge, they are independently powered and have a 360 degree pivotal steering system with 16 tires; they are versatile, agile and offer cost effective and safe operation.

With these new Doosan cranes, KPCL will increase productivity and more than double their productivity and capacity while saving time for customers, reducing costs for shippers and ensuring that cargo trains trucks and ships can depart on schedule.

KPCL is a private deep water port on the east coast of India under the Navayuga Group of India.  The port handled over 36 Million Metric Tons (MMT) last year and is located 190 km north of Chennai with sea, rail and road access. KPCL handles: Cargo containers, Dry bulk cargo and Liquid cargo.

With the delivery of these five cranes Doosan Vina has now delivered a total of eighty  "Made in Vietnam" cargo container cranes to customer worldwide.
