Toyo Ink (Malaysia) is looking for the partners for developing the Song Hau 2 BOT Thermal Power Project - 

Toyo Ink Group Berhad is promoting a plan to find the partners for capital contributing the investment capital to the US$ 3.5 billion Song Hau 2 BOT Thermal Power Project (TPP), Hau Giang province, Southern Vietnam that has been assigned to the Group for studying development.

The Investment Report of the Project quoted the Toyo Ink General Director Steven K.C.Song said, a number of companies and independent power producers as well, have approached Toyo Ink to establish partnerships for building Song Hau 2 TPP.

"With the participation of the other partners, we would have to mobilize less funds. Toyo hopes to remain a major shareholder of the project, but not necessarily hold a 51% stake. Toyo Ink and its potential partners desire to complete all relevant investment agreements and procedures in coming year", Mr. Steven KC Song said.

Toyo Ink and the General Department of Energy (MoIT) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the development of Song Hau 2 BOT TPP from the beginning of August 2013.

The project includes two units by 1000 MW each (2x1000 MW), the unit No1 expected to put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2021 and the second one in the second quarter of 2022.

In case, looking for the partners for Song Hau 2 development to be completed soon, the ability to accelerate the project implementation will be realized over.

Toyo Ink began a plan of looking for investment opportunities to a power plant in Vietnam from 9 years before. After much preparation, at the beginning of 2013, Toyo Ink has been permitted by Vietnamese Government to become the Investor of Song Hau 2 BOT TPP.

Song Hau 2 TPP belongs to the list of the projects in Vietnam National Power Development Planning in 2011-2020 period with an outlook up to 2030 (Power Planning VII) approved by Prime Minister in Decision No 1208/QD-TTg, dated 21/7/2011.
