Electric and Power Vietnam 2014: Opening new cooperative opportunities

Attended by both local and foreign firms in Vietnam, amongst 4,334 trade visitors over the 3 days include 109 group delegations from Can Tho Power Co., Soc Trang Power Co., Power Transmission 3, Power Transmission 4, Bac Lieu Power Co., Tien Giang Power Co., Tay Ninh Power Co., Electric Mechanic Enterprise - Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 (Pecc2), Sanmiguel Hormel, Vedan Vietnam, Phu My 3 Power, Vietsovpetro – M&E Department, Nestle – M&E Department (to name a few)…

Mr. Richard Yue - Discrete Automation and Motion Division Manager said that, at the first day they have received more than 180 new customer inquiries who are interested in our products and services. The power quality seminar as well as the package solution seminar also attracted a full house of participants to learn and share the experiences and issues they encountered in the end-user day to day operation. "I think ABB has taken full advantage in creating market awareness in our power and automation products at this exhibition. ABB will continue to take part in such exhibition with our products and solution in the future”, He added.

Coupled with the recently announced pro-business government policies in power generation, more opportunities will be available for international players in the years to come. The complimentary sector of Plant and Process Automation is also set to grow with more factories setting up in Vietnam, and with the expectant new refineries coming online – Nghi Son & Vung Ro, which will encourage the development of a new petrochemical sector as chemical feedstock from the refineries will then become locally available. This development requires new power generation capacities to be installed to support the energy intensive petrochemical industry”.

This event also is a platform for knowledge sharing, which brought together industry thought leaders to address pertinent issues and share best practices with professionals in the energy sector.Topics featured were “Energy Efficiency and Audit Compliance with ISO 50001:2011” and “Power and Plant Case Studies – An Experience from Singapore”. These two seminars were well attended with over 200 registered participants.

The next edition of Electric and Power Vietnam and Industrial Automation Vietnam will returnfrom September 14th to 16th, 2016 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho ChiMinh City.
