Doosan Vina performs social programs in Quang Ngai province

 - Korean Students from Chung Ang University and employees of Doosan Vina work with students, repair homes and clean the beach in a week of CSR in Quang Ngai.

Over 7 days between the 10th and 16th of January 2018 volunteers from Doosan Vina and Chung Ang University (CAU) of Seoul South Korea will carry out the fifth education focused Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in Quang Ngai.  The year’s lessons will feature learning activities designed to develop the students creativity.  Examples of what the CAU students from Korea will be teaching are calligraphy and how to make birds, flowers and other natural wonders through the creative use of special papers.  

In addition to the education based aspect of this CSR program the volunteers will work to clean and renovate houses of the poor and elderly and launch a “Beach Clean Up” program to draw attention to the need of proper waste disposal and recycling.

The educational activities will take place at three schools and involve approximately 1,000 students in Central Vietnam’s Quang Ngai Province’s.  The three schools are Tinh Tho 2 Primary School; Binh Hoa Primary School and Son Tan Primary School.

In housing the Doosan and CAU volunteers will repair two homes in the Binh Thuan Commune and then begin their third project by moving to Binh Thuan Beach to collect waste that washes ashore from the sea. 

Choi Myeong, head of the Chung Ang group said, "I am very honored to be here with the Korean students to carry out these very worthwhile programs and we will do our best to help the local pupils and improve life for the people of the Quang Ngai.”

This is an annual CSR program between Doosan Vina and Chung Ang University deploy in Quang Ngai. After 9 years of implementation, the program has supportted so much for disadvantaged students in Quang Ngai on live skills as well as helping  the poor got better homes.

The cost for this program in 2018 is $25,000 and that brings the total to date on these teaching centered CSR programs to $123,000.  In all Doosan Vina has invested over $5.7 million in its CSR programs in Vietnam.
