Doosan Vina participated in their annual Corporate Social Responsibility program in Quang Ngai Province

 - From the 18thto 22nd of September 2017 Doosan Vina in partnership with Chung Ang University Hospital of Koreacarried out their annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program in Quang Ngai Province.

With a total of 21,500 Vietnamese in Quang Ngai Province have now been Examined and Treated as Part of the Nine CSR programs sponsored byDoosan Vina and Chung Ang University Hospital

This ninth edition of the annual medical CSR included: examinations by Korean doctorsfor 2,500 people in the five communes of the Binh Son District of Quang Ngai, Vietnam and gynecological surgery for seven women at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Quang Ngai Province.As part of their examination the 2,500 patients also received medicines to treat their illness and gifts to lift their spirits.

Yeon In Jung CEO of Doosan Vina speaking about Doosan Vina’s CSR program said, “Healthcare is one of our three CSR focuses that fall under our broader CSR umbrella of ‘Building Healthy Communities.’ We invest in healthcare, education and housing for our neighbors because we firmly believe these three things are foundational to helping build sustainable and thriving communities.”

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huong, from Tuyet Diem Village 1, Binh Thuan commune said: “I have been suffering for many years with a medical condition but myfunds are limited so I haven’t been able to seek the treatment I need, but because of this service by the Korean doctors I can get some medical attention and medicine.”

The Korean doctors and their Vietnamese colleagues at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Quang Ngai Province will perform sevenobstetric gynecological surgeries.  Korean Doctor and Professor of Surgery Lee EunJu, Doctor Yang Ang Shin Ho and Nurse JiMi Kyung will perform the surgeries.  Professor Lee EunJuis also the doctor who led an internship for Quang Ngai Obstetrics Doctors at Chung Ang University Hospital in Seoul in 2017.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Lienof Nghia Hiep Commune, in Quang Ngai Province is one of the patients who will have surgery.  Commenting on her upcoming operation she said, “I have had problems for several years and treatment has not been successful so this surgery is a wonderful thing and I am so grateful to Doosan Vina, CAU and the Korean specialists for making it possible.”

This medical service event was first held by Doosan Vina and Chung Ang University Hospital in 2008 and this is the ninth cycle of the program.  This medical CSR is a joint effort between Doosan Vina, Doosan Korea and Chung Ang University of Seoul, South Korea and has provided free medical exams and medicine for 21,500 people in Quang Ngai Province at a cost of 2.2 billion VND for this year service and more than $600,000 since 2008.
