Vietnam and Korea signed a MOU on the technical standards in the power system management

 - On June 10, in Hanoi, authorized by the Leaders of Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Mr. Tran Viet Hoa, Director of Science and Technology Department and Mr. Kim Dong Soo, Standing Vice Chairman of Korean Electrical Association (KEA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on technical standards and norms in power system management.

On September 7, 2018, the Minister of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 3263/QD-BCT, on the Roadmap to perfect the systems of the technical standards and norms for Industry and Trade until 2025.

For implementing this Decision in order to strengthen the capacity of organizations and individuals to participate in the activities of technical standards and norms of Industry and Trade through connecting, exchanging and sharing knowledge and experience with international organizations, experts in technical standards and norms, MOIT and KEA agreed to sign a MOU on “Technical standards and norms in the power system management”.

This MOU will be a framework document for cooperation activities between the two parties to enhance information exchange, organize the training courses on technical standards and norms in power system management,  support consultancy on technical standards and norms and promote trade for the enterprises in power sector of the two countries.  

The contents of cooperation includes the main activities: Firstly, to exchange information on technical standards and norms for the power system management of the two sides, for example on following contents:

(i)Systems for managing technical standards and norms of each country.

(ii) The suggestions for the international standards.

(iii) Activities for studying and reviewing standards and norms on power industry management in accordance with the appearance of new technologies in the power and construction sector.

(iv) Relevant conferences and seminars organized by the two sides.

Secondly, to cooperate for organizing the training courses on technical standards and norms for system management in power industry.

Thirdly, to support consulting activities on technical standards and norms, and promote trade for the enterprises in power industry management of the two countries.
