Putting into operation Cau Bong 500kV transformer substation

 - The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) informed, on March 10th, 2014, Cau Bong 500 kV transformer substation has been successfully powered for test and put into operation.

The total final capacity size of Cau Bong 500kV transformer substation project will be 3(3x300) MVA (9 single phase transformers of 300MVA) of 500/220/35kV, among which 2(3x300) MVA installed in 2011-2020 and the third (3x300) MVA -  after 2020, and 3x250 MVA (3three-phase transformers) of 220/110/22kV. In the first stage (2011-2015), Cau Bong project consists 500/220/35 kV - 3x300MVA and 220/110/22 kV – 2x250MVA.

Cau Bong 500kV transformer substation project is at Lang Cat village, Tan Phu Trung Commune, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City. EVNNPT is the investor and the Southern power project management Board on behalf of the investor is the manager of the project.

Putting into operation Cau Bong 500kV transformer substation project has brought into play the role of the 500kV transmission line Pleiku - My Phuoc - Cau Bong, created a 500kV circle around the Ho Chi Minh city area, contributed to ensuring electricity supply for Ho Chi Minh City and Long An province, releasing capacities from hydropower plants in high land (Tay Nguyen) region, improving the reliability and safety of electricity supply for the transmission grid in particular and the power system in general.
