Powering the expansion elements of Doc Soi 500 kV transformer substation

The expansion elements of Doc Soi 500 kV substation include: transforming the 500 kV connection scheme from the quadrangle to 3/2; additional extending 8 feeders (including 2 to 500 kV Quang Trach distribution yard, 2 to Pleiku 2 500 kV substation and 4 for reserving); installing 2 shunt reactors (500 kV- 192 MVAr each) and 2 series capacitors ( 500 kV- 43 Ω - 2000 A each) for double circuit of 500 kV Quang Trach – Doc Soi transmission line, and 2 shunt reactors (500 kV- 65 MVAr each) and 2 series capacitors (500 kV, 30.5 Ω - 2000 A each) for double circuit of 500 kV Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 transmission line.

The expansion elements are also equipped with the optical amplifiers, optical interface modules for the existing optical transmission equipment and equipment with a distant cut tripping for the protective relays.

Powering the expansion elements is very important for putting into operation 500 kV Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 transmission  line that expected to be completed at the end of March 2021.

The 500 kV Doc Soi – Pleiku 2 transmission line project invested by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed in implementation by the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) on behalf of the investor EVNNPT, and will be managed and operated by Power Transmission Companies No2 and No3 .
