Power Submarine Cable to Ly Son Island has come ashore

 - Afternoon 8th September, the final meters of nearly 27 km of submarine cable transmitting electricity of the national power grid from the mainland have got ashore at Ly Son island.

The vessel for spreading cable and the vessel for  transporting  materials serving cable spreading.

The spreading work of the submarine cable to the Ly Son island has been basically completed for 7 days before the planned date.

According to assessments of the Project Management Board of Central Rural Electricity, Central Power Corporation (CPC), at present moment, it could be confirmed that the entire construction process was compliant with the design. The cable, from the first km to the last one has been carefully spreaded and buried for a 1.5m depth in the seabed and the quality of the project reaches a level of over 99%.

If there were the above results, it was because, in recent years, more than 100 engineers, experts, seamen…under Thai Duong  - Prysimia (Italy) contractors consortium were hard working day and night  in bad weather conditions to complete spreading submarine cable.

The Project has a total investment of VND 652 billion and divided into two parts as a 8.7km medium voltage  (22 kV) line in Binh Son district and a 26.6km submarine cable from the mainland to Ly Son island.

As expected, the connection of the cable to the onshore transformation station at Dong Village, An Vinh commune, Ly Son island district will take place on September 10, after completing the tests on the electrical isolability, conductivity and other relative parameters of the project.  The technical powering should be on September 15.

Thus, after the  island districts as Phu Quoc (Kien Giang province) and Co To (Quang Ninh province), Ly Son island district (Quang Ngai province) will be connected with the national power grid.
