EVN makes efforts to complete many grid projects

 - According to the informaton fom The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), in second half of the year, EVN will strive to energize and start many power grid projects as expected schedule.

EVN aims to complete key projects to supply power to the South provines as scheduled.

Accordingly, EVN aims to complete construction of the key transmission line projects to supply power to the Southern provinces, including Phu My - Song May, Song May - Tan Dinh, and Phu My - O Mon 500kV transmission lines; upgrading series capacitors of  Pleiku – Phu Lam 500kV transmission line; transfering  and installing series capacitors for Nho Quan- Ha Tinh 500kV transmission line.   
Pleiku-My Phuoc- Cau Bong 500kVtransmission line and Cau Bong 500kV substation yard;  Cau Bong-Cu Chi 220kV transmission line and 220 kV Cu Chi substation will be also completed and put into operation as scheduled.

EVN is  concentrating efforts on completing necessary procedures to start construction of Cau Bong-Duc Hoa, Cau Bong-Hoc Mon-Binh Tan turn 220 ​​kV transmission lines, Son La-Lai Chau 500kV transmission line, Duyen Hai and My Tho 500kV substations, 220kV grids synchronising with Vinh Tan Power Centre, Song Bung 2 and 4 hydropower plants; to ensure developing  progress of  Quang Ninh-Mong Duong, Vinh Tan - Song May 500kV transmission lines and a number of other important projects.

Besides, in order to strengthen electricity supply for  some of areas, EVN will complete construction and put into operation a number of  projects as Van Tri-Chem, Hoc Mon-Hiep Binh Phuoc 220kV lines; improve Nha Be-Phu Lam, Da Nhim-Long Binh 220kV lines and upgrade Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Pho Noi, Son La, My Phuoc to ensure power supply to areas as 220kV transmission lines of Van Tri - Chem, Hoc Mon - Hiep Binh Phuoc, upgrading 220kV power transmission line of Nha Be - Phu Lam, Nhim - Long Binh, increasing the capacity of 220 ​​kV substations of Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Pho Noi, Son La, My Phuoc.

EVN will also start contruction of Ha Dong-Thanh Cong, Chem-West Lake, Trang Bang - Tay Ninh 220 ​​kV lines and Hai Duong 2, Phu My 2 Industrial Zone, Nhon Trach, 220kV substations .

Rural power supply projects are also being concentrated to carry out. It strives to complete the approval of investment procedures for power supply projects for Ly Son island district and villages in Bac Kan and Lai Chau provinces right in the third quarter of 2013.

For power grid projects synchronous with power plants, EVN will complete testing connections for unit no.1 of Vinh Tan 2 thermal power plant, Formosa thermal power plant and Dac Drinh hydropower plant (Son Ha-Doc Soi 220kV line); and Quang Ninh - Hiep Hoa 500kV line.

For the final six months of 2013, EVN must face up to difficulties and challenges due to cut-off and decrease in gas supply for power generation in the South provinces (in the first 14 days of July,  PM3 gas supply to Ca Mau Power Plant 1 & 2 with 1500MW was fully stoped, Nam Con Son gas supply dropped to 5.5 million m3 per day until 6/9; from the third quarter, the construction of Pleiku-My Phuoc-Cau Bong 500kV transmission line is concentrated; during the months of the frourth quarter, the hydropower plants in the Southern provinces must accumulate wate to the highest level to prepare power suppply to the Southern provinces during the dry season in 2014.

The Electricity of Vietnam defines the general objective for the final six months is to ensure sufficient and safe power supply for socio-economic development of the country, complete tasks and exceeds target for 2013, prepare sufficient conditions for power generation and supply in 2014.
