EVN invests VND 65 billion for electrify the mountain villages in Lao Cai province by electricity network

This is one of the projects in honor of the 12th Congress of Communist Party of Vietnam and one of the first projects of rural electrification EVN would invest in 2016-2020 period, started out in 2016. The EVN NPC has been assigned as the investor of the project.
The project with a VND 65 billion investment total includes 35 km of 35 kV overhead lines, 42 km of 0.4 kV lines and 17 transformer substations of 35/0.4 kV with a total capacity of 2,250 kVA.
The project is expected to supply electricity from the national network for 774 households in 14 mountain villages, and contribute to poverty reduction and bring the civilized light for people in remote areas.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tan Loc – EVN Deputy General Director, Muong Khuong is a poor and unusually difficult district of Lao Cai province, located near to Vietnam-Chine border. Therefore, in order to rapidly supply electricity for the inhabitants there, the leaderships of Lao Cai province and EVN had harried up to sign a cooperation plan on electricity network development investment since December 16, 2015.
