At the press conference for announcing the cost indexes in September and Q3 2016, the Bureau of Statistics informed that, the cost index of electricity production, transmission and distribution in Q3 2016, increased by 0.2% in comparison with the previous quarter, but decreased by 0.73% over the same quarter of last year. The average cost index of electricity production, transmission and distribution in nine first months 2016 increased by 1.8% compared with the same period of last year.
That, the cost index of electricity sector increased, is explained due to the complicated whether happening, especially the Elnino impact. However, the power sector had guaranteed safe and stable electricity supply for production, living activities and political events, especially in the summer months with very high demand, and participated in stabilizing electricity prices, expressed the representative of the Bureau of Statistics
According to the report of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), in August 2016, the EVN’ units had started to construct 13 and powered 10 power grid projects of 110 kV. Accumulated, in 8 first months 2016, EVN had started to construct 111 and powered 143 projects of 110 - 500kV power grids with a goal to strengthen power supply reliability and stability for socio-economic development and living activities of the people.
