Clean coal production reached 14 million tons in the first 4 month of 2016

 - Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) informs that the clean coal production approximately reached 14 million tons in the 4 months of the year, accounting a 2.9% improvement on last year period production. However, the production in April was only 3.6 million tons, down 4.2% compared to the same period of the year.

According to Vinacomin, in April, the group sold 3 million tons of coal, down 1.2% compared to the same period of the year. The inventory finished coal to the end of April estimates 9.6 million tons.

MOIT has recorded, the export turn-over of fuel and mineral group estimates VND 0.9 billion, accounting a 1.7% of total export turn-over of the country, down 44.9% compared to the same period of the last year, among that coal export turn-over decreased by 91.4% 

Due to decreasing fuel prices in the world, the average export price of Vietnamese coal was decreased considerably as 25.8% compared to the export price in the same period of the last year.

Regarding the coal import, in four months the import amount was increased up to 262.3% with a sharply decreased average price as 37.7% against the same period of the last year.

MOIT also informs that the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) in April, 2016 increased by 7.9% compared to April, 2015 but lower than increasing level as 9.4% of the same period of 2015 year. The main reason of this situation was decrease by a 1.7% production of the mining sector.

Mr. Le Thang Hai, Deputy Minister of MOIT considered: “Despite a lot of difficulties, Coal Industry had  maximally satisfied coal types on customer’s demand, moved reasonably coal mixing areas for meeting coal demand of thermal power plants.

Besides, Coal Industry tried to stabilize production and guarantee the jobs and income for labors”.
